Quick Lube Technician

The Quick Lube Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance services on vehicles in a fast-paced environment. This role primarily involves oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and other minor maintenance tasks, ensuring that customers' vehicles are serviced efficiently and to a high standard. The Quick Lube Technician is a critical part of the service team, focused on providing excellent customer service and maintaining vehicle safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform oil changes using the appropriate type and amount of oil for each vehicle.
• Replace oil filters, air filters, and cabin air filters as needed.
• Ensure proper disposal of used oil and filters according to environmental regulations
• Check and replenish essential fluids, including engine coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
• Inspect fluid levels and report any leaks or abnormal findings to the supervisor or customer.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
• Ensure that all work is performed in a manner that is safe for both the technician and the customer.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment, reporting any issues to the service manager.
• Assist in restocking supplies and ensuring the service area is ready for daily operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in automotive maintenance preferred.
• Experience: Some experience in automotive maintenance or related field preferred, but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
• Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior technicians and supervisors.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Work is primarily performed in a service bay or automotive shop setting; exposure to noise, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools and equipment.
• Schedule: Full-time or part-time hours available; may include weekends and holidays depending on business needs.
